Ezuri Elfhame Evergreen
Ezuri and the Legion of Elves
Overruns Duel Commander
through Strength in Numbers
and Overwhelming Instinct
The elven tribe have grown strong and sturdy throughout the years. Their appeal and popularity is undeniable considering the many decks that are filled with the little pointy eared critters. Even more with the number of gamers choosing Elf Legends as their Commanders. I believe, this is largely due to Green and the Elves touching base with the fundamentals of Magic, namely mana production and card advantage. And with Ezuri at the helm, the elves leave an exceptionally predaceous stomping and make for a force truly deadly to reckon with.
You may think I'm being rather biased with my assessment, loving me my elves. I assure you I am not. To tell frankly, even I was a bit surprised with the effectiveness of the deck. When I first pieced together my version of this deck, I was having a good showing with the win percentages. And obviously, I've been having a great time since. I've been tweaking it and keeping some cards saved in consideration of certain meta groups. I hope you enjoy playing with the deck as much as I have. I assure you it won't disappoint.
You'll Like The Deck If...
You love pointy eared treehuggers.
You like creature synergies.
You like a low mana screw percentage.
You go for speed and consistency.
You're also into versatility and resiliency.
You Won't Like The Deck If...
You're not into a tribal theme.
You don't like a cluttered battlefield.
You're a heavy control player.
You don't care if you win or lose as long as it's "casual."
Deck Deconstruction
The game play is rather simple. Play your elves and other creatures in the first few turns, hopefully with Ezuri in the mix. Do your best to stabilize your mana generation, as well. If you can, try and tutor for your wonder lands Gaea's Cradle and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx as soon as possible. And basically, just keep attacking coupled with Ezuri overrun. Do this consistently and relentlessly each turn. Game, set, match.
Your opponents do fight back, though. Should there be roadblocks such as any mass creature kill, build up your legion and do everything all over again. Make sure to use all your utility creatures and also baffle them with your elvish tricks. Use every arsenal in your deck to overpower your opponents and in the end, victory will be yours.
